Thankfully our time IN the States – though a bit rushed as we spent about two weeks in Florida, followed by a week and a half in California and two weeks in Michigan – was much better than our time getting TO the States. It was so good to see our family and friends (so good that I’m already wishing we could see them again!). Here’s a quick glimpse of some of our time there….
-In Florida, our dear friend took us to Disney, which was loads of fun! (I actually don’t have many pictures, as I need to get them from my dad. A-hem.)
-We had an open house in Orlando, and some of my family even drove quite a ways for it, which was a nice surprise. It was really nice seeing people we hadn’t seen in a while, too (though it always feels like there’s never ENOUGH time!).
-My best friend got married in California at Big Sur, which was absolutely gorgeous (though the ride there was a bit, um, nerve racking. Narrow, twisting and HIGH mountain roads…. The whole trip there reminded me quite a bit of Ireland. Beautiful.). So was she, of course! 😉 We were also able to reconnect with some old friends…. All in all, an amazing time.
-Chris’s parents also joined us in California, and they went with Chris and the kids to an A’s baseball game (while my best friend and I got pampered with a manicure, pedicure and some girl time!).
-A friend also blessed us with tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was really cool. The kids loved it!
-…And then travelin’ light on to Michigan for more fun with family, snow (in late April, even! Judah was thrilled…. The rest of Northern Michigan probably less so….), a rather miserably weathered Detroit Tigers game, a two night getaway for me and Chris (Hurray for Groupon!) and some relaxing.
So there you have it – a glimpse of our trip to the States!
